Audio

In Movie Maker there is only one audio track so yes, render the movie and then add it to a new project and add audio. However, I can tell you this is can be a very frustrating process which is why most people use a more sophisticated software like Premiere Elements so that you can have 2 or more audio tracks.

Just a "heads up" about the Audio. I didn't know about the issue with doing the audio track - so I'm glad I did it this way and it worked! I just rendered to make sure. Anyway - I recorded my voiceover in Audacity then added my soundtrack to that. When you export, it compresses it all into one track! Very easy and sounds great!

I did my the other way. I created everything in MovieMaker except for the voice over. Rendered the movie and then added the voice over. My problem was the background music I used was so loud you couldn't hear the voice over. I had to take the music and lower the amplitude in Audacity, reload it into my project, render it again and then add the voice overs. I ended up do it again because I still wasn't satisified with the result. I think I now have a pretty good product.

I have posted an opinion on audio recording under "Assignment #2" I hope that is useful.

As I worked through my assignment 2 - my journey life, the movie maker crashed many times, especially in the last couples of steps. Annoying. I am wondering if that's my own problem.

BTW, can we edit the video using movie maker like final cut or adobe premiere?

I definately will end up using programs other than windows movie maker from now on for the audio. Like Dave said, the audio was loud and there was no way to edit the end of the music so it just stopped abrubtly. Definately will use audacity next time.
