I was waiting for someone to comment but it never happened so here goes!
Yes, you are supposed to blog for each week. Typically the first person to begin the discussion on that week's reading will create the new section (thread) and give it the name of the week -- such as Week 3 Readings (which people did pretty well this past time). Everyone else clicks on that thread and adds their comments. This keeps the weeks readings grouped together. Week 3 persons did this well. So I am hoping people are beginning to get the hang of blogging.
I will not grade so much on content as these are opinion pieces. However, I will check to see if everyone blogged each week! So if you are behind in getting this done -- you are losing points!

In Saudi Arabia , the ministry of education is studying the possibility of implementing King Abdullah Project which is “A laptop for each student” in the public school. This project intends to give a laptop to each student instead of giving him/her textbooks which are given to students for free. some advantages of that project are:
1- Less cost, in term of “one laptop for a student for entire his academic years instead of 7 to 10 textbooks for a student per a year”
2- It leads to constructive learning with all its values.
3- Allows the use of Multimedia in the classroom. And more..
At that time, I think EVERY KID in Saudi Arabia will be A PUBLISHER
I am wondering, are they considering the cost of updating/repairing/replacing those computers? The average life span of a laptop is somewhere around 4 years if treated properly. I know mine, which goes everwhere with me, is on its last legs after only 2 years.
Elham, I think the King Abdullah Project sounds fantastic. That is a very intelligent investment in the students who will later become leaders. I hope that other countries will follow that example. What a difference it would make if every child had their own laptop in this country! How beneficial it could be and motivating to students, who realize the value placed w/in their reach and great expectations...that their country believes in them. Thanks for sharing!
The King believes in empowering the young minds because they are the future. Incorporating technology early on in their life will lead to great innovation. That will definitely integrate technology in their curriculum. Now the pupils will be able to perform research in the early stage. Coming from a developing country I can see the importance of giving pupils lap-top early on. Technology leads to economic development especially with ecommerce, trying to go green to protect the environment.
