Tutorials?

Hello everyone! I am sure that everyone is working up to the last minute... Lots of stuff to do this week!!!!

I just finished up assignment 5 using Camtasia- It was my first time using the software, but I found it to be rather fun. I teach 1st grade and I am planning a lesson on Arctic Animals... so thought I would take advantage of the situation and create this project around my ideas...

My question- It really isn't a tutorial- It is something that I will def. use as a lesson in my classroom! Also, I created an assessment worksheet and a rubric to go along... Does it sound like I am on the right track?

Jenny, I absolutely love the animation! It sounds like you are on the right track. I hope to be in your shoes very soon.

Question: What is your source for the animation?

Trouble importing home made video clips into Camtasia: Can anyone out there offer some detailed instructions? I thought it would be pretty self explanatory but I've literally spent hours trying to figure this part out, including watching videos, and searched online for clues. It's not like importing music into MovieMaker. I have lots of video clips that I'd like to weave into my tutorial but I'm pretty frustrated right now. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! -Anna

P.S.- Here is a nice web site I discovered in the whole process of trying to find a solution to my dilemma. It has not helped me for this problem but I can see that it will be useful so I thought I'd share this resource: http://www.trinity.edu/rjensen/000aaa/thetools.htm#StreamingMedia

***In addition to the previous blog, I just wanted to specify that Windows Media Player will not let me "Save As". I can see the option but it will not let me save the video clips I made as a file.

Another question, do I need to finalize the video first? I did not do this yet because I was hoping to possibly edit and I thought that once you finalize it is "in stone." But I 'm wondering if finalizing it will allow me to save. Can anyone help?

I am not sure Anna...
I am using a video clip that I found online- National Geographic has WONDERFUL animal video that are very educational... I still am not sure that I am doing this project correctly- I have spent a lot of time on it... and can use it in my classroom.... but I don't know if it is what Dr. Franklin is looking for...

Jenny,
Thanks for sharing the web site!!

I'm now wondering if I'm doing this project correctly. I too have spent a lot of time on this project and I've got a bunch of potential video 'footage' I took that I'm hoping to be able to fit some of the clips into my A5. I have the feeling that I may have been doing more work than really needed. Tonight, I'm going to try another strategy w/saving the video footage directly into the computer. I hope it works. Either way, I'm getting a lot of troubleshooting experience!

My Camtasia assignment was done for a while, but I have submit it yet. The reason is that the voice quality is not very good. I wonder if my Microphone is not good enough or some other technical problems. Any of you guys get the same problem?
